Less than 24 hours.......
Until Elliot is born and our first black President is sworn in. At least if there is a delay I'll have some interesting TV to watch. I am excited but have major butterflies too. Not really about the surgery or even the baby. Just Noah. I've never been away from him overnight. And unfortunately he doesn't have one consistent caregiver while I'm in the hospital for 3 days. Although, between my sister, aunt, mom and his dad, he'll be well taken care of. I'm sure he'll be fine. I keep trying to explain it all to him and he won't keep eye contact and runs off in the middle of me telling him. So I hope he is ok.
I can't wait to see Elliot though! And see how big he is! I bet he's a chunker like Noah. I wonder if he'll be even bigger. I put some newborn dipes in the diaper caddy downstairs and they are SO small - especially next to Noah's size 6's. I only have bought size 1's and 2's, but had a few people give me some leftover newborns their babies grew out of too fast. I wonder if Elliot's buns will even fit in them? Can't wait to see.
And I have to say as my due date draws closer, Dr. P is my hero. He has the power to UN-impregnate me and for that I seriously love him. Haha. I'm pretty fond of the anesthesiologists too. And nurses. I guess Paul is ok, but sheesh, he's the one who got me in this condition in the first place.
Noah & Charlie and Aunt RaRa are going to the bouncehouse place tomorrow while I'm being prepped for surgery. By the time they are done I'll be getting CLOSE to having Elliot but not yet. I was SO out of it for hours after Noah was born. Unable to even hold him up myself to nurse. The nurse had to support him for me. But, that was after a long labor all day. I am hoping this time I'll be wide awake and alert.
Well this is a pretty random post of my thoughts.......... maybe a little procrastination too since I still have to pack my bag and vacuum downstairs. If you read this please pray for me and Elliot tomorrow! And Noah too.

Noah's Fun Day
He actually pushed Paul away from the stairs the 2nd time so he could go alone. He didn't like Paul cramping his style.
Doing some crafty stuff
No one's birthday, but it's just more fun to blow out a candle before indulging in a cupcake!
Mmmm
I love this face
Wooohoooo!
It is 8:15 and Noah is just waking up! He slept for nearly 13 hrs last night. His sleep has been so random the past few weeks. Today we are having a Noah Fun Day and that little bit of sleeping in is just what we needed. Off to make a delicious breakfast and get ready for the bouncehouse place! We'll post pictures later <3

Randomness while we wait...
The countdown begins. It has been difficult keeping Noah busy during these last few weeks as Elliot starts to make everything uncomfortable. But, he's not being neglected.
Excited about his new book from Kira and Dylan, that he LOVES!

Even though he loves his automatic batting machine, he still likes the interaction that occurs when he has a real live pitcher. He eyes the pitches intently, and you have to be on top of your game when throwing to him or you will get drilled if you're not paying attention. Sometimes, you'll get drilled when you are. He used to hate wearing anything on his head, but now he needs his hat whenever he "play ball".

Game over...

Noah likes to be a part of the morning routine when we all brush our teeth. Pictures could not capture how sweet this scene really was.

A rare mid-day nap. Noah just flat ran out of steam. Watching a child sleep just seems to transform them somehow. It brings out their innocence, their sweetness and takes you back to when they were newborns - helpless, curious and oh so holdable. Hard to leave them to sleep without picking them up and giving them a hug.

Wally, after playing in the snow. He looks worried about what's getting ready to happen, but he'll come around once Elliot arrives home. He was instantly more protective when we brought Noah home.

Me & my baby
I was just looking on our hard drive and loving some of Noah's old baby pics. Here are just a few of us together that melt my heart. I could make a whole book of them, but you can post 5 at a time so I'll just randomly pick 5 :) I can't believe that it's not just going to be us anymore.
This is sometime this past spring, playing at the park. Aren't we just a Hallmark card?
His first week home.... this picture is really worth a thousand words.

Getting ready
It's full-on nesting weekend at the Thomas household. Clothes and other baby implements are being pulled out of storage, assembled, cleaned, washed, folded put in drawers, etc.
It amazes me how much stuff we seem to have accumulated. I remember buying a few things before Noah was born, but I don't seem to recall how we acquired tubs of clothes. And I don't mean in two years, I mean tubs of stuff from the 0-6 month age. That's even after throwing out the too-gross-to-keep clothes.
And getting all this newborn stuff ready - Pack-n-play, swing, bassinet, crib, car seat, etc - makes me realize how little Noah resembled the babies they talked about in the books we read before he arrived. He used almost none of it. No bottles, no crib, no pack-n-play, no pacifier, no bed. He was off the reservation in terms of how different he was than expected. The only thing he used was the car seat, simply because we didn't have a choice, and even that made us grit our teeth before we loaded up for a trip.
We counting on all those people who've been telling us that your second child is totally different, at least in the beginning. He turned out ok. Hard to believe this guy won't be the center of attention for much longer.

Noah helped me fold clothes. For kicks, I had him model one of his old 6-month outfits. It didn't really hit home how big he'd gotten until I did this.
This shirt could easily have read, "My dad"...
He was actually wearing it at 6 weeks old in the picture below. I know you're thinking - he's in a crib and there's a pacifier next to him. Don't be fooled dear friends. It took us awhile to give up trying :)
