Time flies

I had the camera handy as I gave Elliot his bath a couple of nights ago, so I snapped a few pictures.  Bathtime has become so routine that I almost never notice how big they're getting, compared to how small they once were.   Every once in a while though, I'm reminded of giving them their first baths.  It doesn't seem that long ago.  It won't be long before they're giving themselves baths.

Elliot still loves his baths, and even though he's not as wild as Noah used to be, he does get a little crazy with the splashing.  This often gets him removed from the tub earlier than he'd like.  He also likes to make waves by laying down and pushing his body from one end of the tub to the other, and to throw the soap bubbles on his dad.

Who does this goof look like?

On the mend

Elliot is getting better. Last night he woke up (right on schedule) at 11pm after having thrown up all over himself. Poor guy gets it just everywhere. Of course, by now we have a "system". Easily strip off layer #1 off bed and no changing of sheets required. Switch out a few blankies and the bed is good to go. We had fresh jammies, dipes and washcloths in our bathroom. But, the good news is he skipped his 2am diarrhea wake up! Yippee! He did wake once at some point and I nursed him. He finally woke up with a wet diaper instead of with diarrhea. Progress! Today was a pretty good day, but he doesn't have his appetite back. Before bed his belly wasn't all distended and firm like it has been the past several nights, so I'm hoping he'll sleep without any disturbances..............but, we have the "system" in place, just in case.

I know we've been bad about posting pics lately. Here are some of E in the bath last night. As you can see, his moods are ever changing when he's not feeling well.

Bathtime fun

It's been awhile since we took bath pics of our boys. Noah, who normally refuses to cooperate was hamming it up tonight smiling big ........ so big his eyes disappeared, but still cute nonetheless.

He looks so big here
He is so mean to his brother sometimes....
I don't blame you for being mad, Elliot!

New Game

Last night the boys bathed seperately, because Noah was coming down with a little bug and was super tired and needing to go to sleep early. I love doing baths at the same time, but I'm always on Noah for pestering his brother, stealing toys, etc. I feel sorry for E when he does this.

Well let me tell you, Noah keeps him in line. Last night with the whole bath to himself he was way too honery for his own good. Without Noah on his side (the side of the faucet), E kept trying to stand up and hang onto it, play with the drain handle and dunk his head to get a closer look at the drain. He seemed to be in the mood to slip, fall and bust his skull open. Of course, every time I moved him to safely sitting down and give him a toy, he let me know how he felt (MAD!).

Then he discovered a new game. One that all babies do at some point. He threw a toy out of the bathtub. At first I didn't think it was on purpose, so I put it back in the tub. Until he repeated it several times. I just had to laugh. It was so funny. His expressions when he does this stuff just crack me up. This is a busy, challenging and FUN age.

Here's my little Elliot after his bath. He looks so cute with his hair all fixed up after bathtime.

No more baby baths

This is a FUN milestone! Elliot is now big/old/strong enough to ditch the baby bath and take baths with Noah. Elliot loves it so much more. Now he can play and splash and move around. It's tiring though because he wants to pull himself up and stand, so we are constantly making him sit back down.

I wasn't sure how Noah would feel about having a much shallower bath, since we let him have a lot of water normally, but he likes playing with E too, and he's been really good about sharing his bath toys. We've gradually been able to push Elliot's bedtime later so we can do our bath/bedtime routines with both boys together. It's so much nicer!

Elliot's first real bath

Elliot loved his first real bath submerged in the water. He only cried as he was getting undressed and into the tub and then again getting out of the tub. Elliot loves getting his hair washed/head rubbed. It's so cute. He didn't want to get out. I think we have another trick up our sleeve if he is ever really fussy and hard to console.

And for fun.... Noah's first real bath (same age). Noah took a little longer to warm up to bathtime:
