We had to brag about how well Noah was adjusting. Well I think he's starting to feel a little rejected by mom for the new kid. He started to hit Elliot today. Four times. The first time I wasn't sure it was meant to be mean. So I calmly told him not to. He did it again and I told him that can hurt and showed him how to touch gently and praised him when he demonstrated. The third time he whacked his head and laughed I knew I was in trouble. I put him in time out and made him say sorry, but he doesn't get it. Five minutes later he hit his head again while I was holding Elliot. I was so mad at Noah and made him sit in time out on the couch. But, he seriously does not get this whole time out thing. Then I think I was much too hard on him and ended up bursting into hormonal tears. I'm sure he's just feeling neglected by mommy and Elliot is attached to me most of the day. I feel so bad. :( I really hope this phase doesn't last long. And I'm going to try really hard to give him more attention. I so wish I could pick him up already. Darn c-section. I hope he knows I love him as much as I always have :( And that him and Elliot will be buddies. And that he doesn't hurt Elliot in the meantime.

Mandy! Noah KNOWS that you love him! This is a huge adjustment for ALL of you! You are a great Mommy and like lots of other things in Noah's little life...this IS a phase that will pass. Hang in there!
<3 Oh sweetie, it won't last, I promise! Tory kicked Olivia in the head once. Hard. And she did cry! They just don't have the words to express themselves at this age and their understanding of the changes is limited. I'm guessing before yesterday he assumed Elliot would be leaving when the playdate was over. LOL. Just keep praising him for doing well and correcting him for not being nice. It will pass!
Hang in there Mandy! It IS a phase... and soon you'll be able to cuddle BOTH of your boys on your lap!
